VALENCIA WEEKEND TRIP, REALLY WORTH A VISIT!

48 HOURS IN VALENCIA.

Oh Valencia, you fair city of love and delight! My dearest spouse and I fled for the weekend to bask in the beauty of our crystal anniversary—fifteen blissful years of matrimony.

We journeyed to catch a glimpse of the hilarious Venezuelan comedian, #Marko, a social media sensation with a laughter-inducing Latino flair. On his Spanish tour, he graced Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, and Tenerife with his comedic prowess, leaving each venue filled with laughter and cheer, completely sold out, I might add.

We were overjoyed by the discovery of this lively city, teeming with contrasting locations. The historic neighborhood of El Carmen and the cutting-edge City of Arts and Sciences left us absolutely awestruck. These towering, futuristic structures stood majestically against the tranquil sky, showcasing the beauty of modern architecture.

We took a much-needed pause in the lovely Turia Park, surrounded by the sprawling city, and took flight with our drone, capturing this magnificent spectacle on film(video on top of this page). Our hearts were overflowing with joy and amazement at the sheer grandeur of it all!

City of Arts and Sciences

The enchanted East part of El Rio, get ready to explore Gulliver Park, where a giant play statue of the infamous traveler from Gulliver’s Travels awaits you!

Take a stroll down the winding, 2000-year-old streets that are a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, dotted with museums, monuments, and mouth-watering Tapas Bars. We suggest hopping on one of the double-decker buses to check out the highlights and then get lost in the charming alleyways to taste the delicious treats.

First stop, the magnificent Central Market, one of Europe’s largest indoor markets, where you’ll work up an appetite just by walking around. And don’t forget to visit the Majestic Cathedral with its own art museum that holds treasures like The Holy Grail! Take a look at the city gate towers, Quart and Serranos, which are remnants of Valencia’s ancient past.

La Rotonda, a round square, is the perfect place for a pre-dinner drink surrounded by restaurants, bars, and even more picturesque walking streets and plazas. Watch the sunset with a cocktail at the beach or in the charming Port Saplaya, aka Little Venice.

We had a mere 48 hours to soak in all this beauty and delicious food, but Valencia stole our hearts, and we’ll definitely be back for more. For more travel tales and tips, be sure to visit our Facebook Page.
